I have spent my life in a family focused environment. I married young and had four children in quick succession. While raising them, I started an in home daycare business which flourished for 25 years. I have spent my life in a family focused environment. I married young and had four children in quick succession. While raising them, I started an in home daycare business which flourished for 25 years. After just a few years of retirement our grandchildren started arriving and my doors opened once again to full time daycare. Simultaneously my interest in art had peaked and I tried an introduction to resin for a couple of afternoons with a local artist and have never looked back. My acrylic work is mostly self taught.

I have been taking two different medium paths on my art journey. My resin pieces are mostly presented on wood panels. They are often done in layers of resin, with foils, crushed glass, tints and alcohol inks. I do, however, use some moulds to do my coasters and trays. I have been taking two different medium paths on my art journey. My resin pieces are mostly presented on wood panels. They are often done in layers of resin, with foils, crushed glass, tints and alcohol inks. I do, however, use some moulds to do my coasters and trays. My other medium of choice is heavy body acrylics occasionally adding moulding paste. I largely use silicone blades and palette knives to achieve my desired effect.

Truly I am inspired through the everyday things in life that bring me joy. Whether it’s how I decorate my home, or dress myself, colour and bling have always made me happy. Truly I am inspired through the everyday things in life that bring me joy. Whether it’s how I decorate my home, or dress myself, colour and bling have always made me happy. I see beauty in the sky, the trees, and flowers that I pay so much more attention to now. I see something and think how could I paint that. Sometimes I’m just inspired by a beautiful picture I’ve seen. Generally my process is not that planned out. I just start painting and see where it leads me.
